There are several reasons why essential oils are healing to the body. Below are five fascinating points attributed to Essential oils. |

- Essential oils have an atomic mass unit (amu) of 500. In order for a substance to cross the blood brain barrier it must be 800-1000 amu. Due to their volatile nature and small atomic weight, essential oils are able to penetrate and oxygenate the brain including the pituitary and pineal glands.
- There are chemical constituents which are the backbone of the healing nature of essential oils. Among these chemical constituents "Sesquiterpenes" are of notable importance.

- There is a gland in the limbic system of the brain called the amygdala. In 1989 it was discovered by Dr. Joseph Ledoux of the New York Medical University
that the amygdala gland stores and releases emotional trauma. Essential oils play a key role because the only way to stimulate the amygdala is through the sense of smell.
- Another way that essential oils are compatible with humans (and animals) is through bio-electrical frequency or vibration. Humans vibrate at a frequency between 62-90 MHz (one million cycles per second).
Essential oils start at 52 and go as high as 320 MHz. The simple act of inhaling an essential oil with a high frequency has the ability to raise one's electrical frequency.
- An essential oil is considered Therapeutic Grade if the anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-infectious (to name a few) properties remain intact in the oil.
One way to know if essential oils are "Therapeutic Grade" is if the oils have been grown organically, have been distilled over low heat and pressure and without the use of chemical solvents.
